CTS connects with UTS and JAUNT commuter routes. Passengers transfer free between CTS and UTS.
Commuter route fares are $2.50 each way, with discounts available for ticket-holders. There are free transfers to CTS and UTS routes as well. University Transit System. (434) 924-7711 UTS operates bus service in and around the grounds of the University of Virginia. Buses shuttle passengers to and from parking lots, take students and faculty to classes and staff to work. Bus service is also supplied to some neighborhoods around the University. UTS and CTS bus routes connect and there is no charge for transferring between the two systems. On weekdays, UTS runs from 6 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. and on weekends from 10:15 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. Their schedule does differ during the summer and during holiday breaks. Greene County Transit. (434) 985-5205 GCT takes people door-to-door anywhere in Greene County - to appointments, shopping, work - on a "by appointment" basis. They also provide regularly scheduled transportation into Charlottesville three times each weekday: at 6:45 a.m., 8:15 a.m., and noon. GCT's office hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. |
Charlottesville Transit Service. (434) 970-3649 CTS buses operate in Charlottesville and in the 29 North area of Albemarle County on nine fixed routes, one demand response route, and six night service routes. Hours of operation on Monday – Saturday are 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on all routes and until midnight in many neighborhoods. On Sundays, two routes are in operation from 7:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
